"Powering Redding's Future" Community College and Technical School Grant Program

Four $1,000 awards for community college and Six $2,000 awards for technical school


County/High School: Shasta County/Redding Electric Utility (REU) customers, see details below

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Be a REU customer living in REU's service area or have an REU customer as a legal guardian
  • Current High School Senior OR currently enrolled in an accredited community college or technical school
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Will attend a community college or technical school full-time in Fall 2018
The Redding Electric Utility (REU) Powering Redding’s Future Technical School Grant Program is for Redding students seeking an associates’ degree or certificate from a community college or technical school. Applicants’ community involvement, essay content, academic achievements and records as well as financial need will be taken into consideration.
·  Four (4) $1,000 community college grants
·  Six (6) $2,000 technical school grants*
*One of the six technical school grants will be awarded to a low-income applicant.
